Parentcentre is the official Allkids.co.uk blog, where I will be posting all the latest additions to Allkids and Children’s Rooms, plus any newsworthy tidbits and also my views on current situations and thoughts in the parenting sphere.

I’m Elaine, married for over 40 years, with 4 kids and 5 grandkids.

My children are aged 41, 38, 36 and 14 – yep, that’s right a great big gap of 21 years between child no3 and no4, and my grandchildren are 14 (yes she’s older than her Uncle by 2 weeks), 12, 8, 2 and 8 months.

So I can speak with authority on:-

teenage pregnancy – I was 16, married at 17
bringing up a family on a budget – 3 kids under the age of 5 at 22 on a very low income.
dealing with teenagers –  which starts from the minute they’re born!
mature motherhood – having a baby at 43 and heading headlong into the menopause
life begins at 50 – going from being a part-time Halifax cashier – to becoming an Internet Entrepreneur
being a grandma – loving it.

In 2005 we launched www.childrens-rooms.co.uk selling kids bedding and themed bedroom accessories and now includes toddler beds and bedding. This is truly a family business as our 3 grown up children now work here, ensuring we get the best deals from our suppliers, which we pass onto our customers, giving us constantly low prices, and offering first class customer service.
